From devil, sense and sensuality
The five members of the band TANZWUT are back with their new album - louder, more groovy and more danceable than ever before. The foundation of the music is industrial combined with medieval instruments and it's more dominant than on their first record. "The idea is the same," says Teufel. "We used the bagpipes and also the electronical beats. We wanted to make something completely new on the first album and were more experimenting. Now we decided to play songs." Drehleier (?), Shawm, Drumscheidt (?) and again and again a number of bagpipes that are surrounded by an electronical sound of guitars and beats invite to a maze of the senses, a trip to the dance rage (=Tanzwut). Today the phenomenon dance rage is so up-to-date like it was 700 years ago. The kind of trance marathon of the techno generation finds amazing parallels to the 14th century: At the time of the plague, people fall into a dance intoxication for days because they thought the end was near. "Our name is our theme," brings Teufel the message of the band to the point.
Teufel is the lead singer of TANZWUT, plays bagpipes and doesn't believe in God. He rather believes in the power of the night, in the fun of seduction and in the force of the rhythm. The disciples around lead singer Teufel made up the new ideas at their home 'Prenzlauer Berg': Brandan (guitar), Castus (bagpipes, programming), Wim and Koll.A. (both shawms and bagpipes), supported by the producer Thommy Hein (also 'Extrabreit'). In the fall, TANZWUT will set up again to let the German concert halls fall into ecstasy.
Enter our maze of senses now and fall into dance force through provocation and charm.
